Privacy policy

No account, no tracking, no advertising, and no cookie unless you pick a language. Your data is not passed on to anyone for their own purposes, and the fonts and images come from this site itself.

The controller under the GDPR is the operator named in the legal notice:

This site is hosted by Muster Hosting GmbH, Musterweg 2, 12345 Musterstadt, Germany, which processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).

Every time you open a page, your browser sends what the server needs to deliver it: your IP address, the time, the address requested, and the name and version of your browser.

The host keeps these access logs for 7 days and then deletes them.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is delivering the site securely and reliably.

To play or watch, you choose a name and a blob. Everyone in the same room sees them, together with your answers and points; spectators see the answers while they are being given.

You do not need your real name. Any nickname will do.

The server keeps all of this in its working memory only and never writes it to disk. A room is closed 30 minutes after it was last used, and everything in it is deleted. A room nobody is in any more is closed after 2 minutes.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR. Without this data there is no game to play.

When you look up a room that does not exist, the server notes your IP address for up to 60 seconds, so that nobody can try out room names by the thousand.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is keeping a room to the people who were invited.

This site sets one cookie, and only when you pick a language by hand: it keeps that language, so the pages come in it from the first load. It also keeps a few entries in your browser’s local storage, each for something you asked for:

• Your place in a room, so that a reload brings you back with your points.
• Your name and blob, to fill in the next join form.
• Theme and sound, as you set them.

Legal basis: § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG. The cookie and the entries are strictly necessary for the service you asked for, so no consent is needed. You can delete them at any time in your browser’s settings.

When a game starts, we record which game it was and when, to show which games are popular. Nothing about the players is recorded.

You have the right to access your data (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17), to restrict its processing (Art. 18), to receive it in a portable form (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on our legitimate interest (Art. 21).
